S.E.R.V.E. — The Service OS

A five-stage system for designing, pricing, and delivering any service like a managed service — built from running enterprise service transitions, scaled down to a solo shop.

Most service businesses are priced and delivered by instinct — a rate card, a handshake, and hope. Enterprise managed services don’t run that way, and there’s no reason a five-person agency should either.

The five stages
S
Scope

Define the box. What’s included, what’s explicitly excluded, and the exact price. Most underpricing and scope creep trace back to a Scope that was never written down.

E
Engage

Sell the outcome, not the hours. Pre-sales discipline: qualify the opportunity, pitch the result, protect the margin in the contract terms.

R
Run

Standardize the machine. SOPs, resourcing, and a delivery system that survives the founder taking a vacation.

V
Value

Prove the ROI, monthly. Reporting and Quarterly Business Reviews that show the work before the client has to ask.

E
Evolve

Scale without friction. Change control, upsells, and re-scoping as the client — and the service — grows.
